Thursday 21st March

 We still need volunteers for the field trip! No school until April 2nd! Have a wonderful spring break!! Highlights from today: - We finished our novel The Wild Robot Escapes - We did a guided drawing of Roz and Brightbill and talked about our predictions on what we think the third Wild Robot book will be about. - We started talking about subtraction in math. Ask me about subtracting on a number line! - Ask me what we did in gym.  - We continued talking about Light for science.

   Reminders: - We still NEED a volunteer for one of the days of the field trip, to meet the MINIMUM volunteer ratio. If you are able to volunteer on any of the days we really need help on the 18th. We are still welcoming a couple volunteers for each day of the field trip if you would like to come with us on any or all of the days!! Also, if you are available to volunteer on May 27th please let me know.  Thanks so much for your support! Let Ms. Parkhurst know if you can volunteer any of the days at alparkhurst@cbe.ab.ca - Don't forget to sign up for conferences on Thursday evening or Friday during the day! Highlights from today: - We did a Saskatchewan landscape art piece that has a grain elevator. - Ask me what we did in gym - We did writing about the book Lost and Found - We had a science challenge to see who could think of the most unique sources of light. Ask me what I came up with!

Highlights from today: - We visited Elder Frank Turning Robe in the Learning Commons  - We finished our visual of the cultures of the places we are learning about.  Reminders: - 4 parents have let me know they can help on the field trip, volunteering. We need 2-4 more volunteers for all of the days still! If you have a police clearance and are able to volunteer for any of the days please let Ms. Parkhurst know.  Highlights from the week: - We have been talking about culture. Thinking about our own culture and the culture in different Canadian communities. Ask me what I know about culture.  - We have been focusing on addition that needs regrouping, this week. At home, I can continue practicing the addition strategies we have been learning: stacking with regrouping, adding on a 100s chart and number lines.  - We have been doing literacy centres all week. I have brought home a sheet that I can continue practicing each day. These are skills that should be practiced more than once. We can even come up with new words that follow the phonics rule I am practicing!  - For Science we have been focusing on sound. Ask me about the water pitch experiment we d
